The aim of this study is to determine the degree of technology adoption among school
instructors based on awareness and motivation, instruction and courses,
instructional design, resources and facilities. If mobile phone technology is
introduced in schools, this study also wants to find out whether teachers'
technological acceptance will affect their readiness for it. During a programme on
teachers' development, a quantitative questionnaire was given to 140 Bangladesh
Open University (BOU) Bachelor of Education (BEd) students from 7 study centres
who teach Information and Communication Technology (ICT) subjects in various
secondary schools in the Jashore, Barishal, Khulna, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Sylhet, and
Chattogram area of Bangladesh. According to the data, respondents' levels of
technology adoption were typically high in terms of motivation and awareness,
instruction and courses, instructional design, resources and facilities. Despite this
favourable acceptance of technology, it was shown that instructors' readiness for
using mobile phones in teaching and learning was at a very low level. However, the
study found a substantial relationship between respondents' technology awareness
and motivation and their preparedness for mobile phone pedagogy. Additionally, it
was discovered that the respondents' readiness may be influenced by their gender. As
a result, this study explores how instructors' preparations for mobile phone pedagogy
and potential ramifications are influenced by their embrace of technology.
